Seeking a dependable and professional part time unarmed school security guard for a PK-6 elementary school district located in Western Nassau County, NY. The position has potential to develop into full-time employment. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming school environment, monitoring entrances and visitors, assisting with arrival/dismissal and responding appropriately to safety or emergency situations. Days/Hours will vary - tours are 7:30am-3:30pm and 3:30pm-6:30pm with some special events at night/weekends Requirements: - MUST have prior law enforcement experience -Retired Law Enforcement strongly encouraged to apply - Valid NYS Security Guard License -Professional, dependable and comfortable working around young children, parents, faculty and staff -Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations -Good communication and interpersonal skills Applicants should submit a resume or brief summary of relevant law enforcement and experience for consideration.
